Fellowship Research

Extensive research opportunities are available in the Division of Cardiology. Residents wishing to explore the science fundamental to cardiovascular disease may choose to spend a couple of years as a resident in the program on molecular and cellular cardiology. Additional in-depth research opportunities are available in translational research and clinical research in areas of:

  • Nuclear cardiology
  • Interventional cardiology
  • Electrophysiology
  • Heart failure research
  • Clinical epidemiology
  • Molecular cardiology

In the second and third years, residents can take advantage of a cumulative three months of protected time for research. Abstract submissions and participation in regional and national meetings is highly encouraged. The expectation is for each Fellow to have at least three peer-reviewed manuscripts during the course of their fellowship.
